Greyson Maddox's horses are inexplicably falling ill and the vet hasn't been able to figure out why. He begins to hear a woman's voice singing a haunting Celtic song during the night. The only thing is, he's in the middle of a snow storm in a pretty isolated area. Where is that voice coming from, and who is singing to his horses?

Lilja appears out of nowhere, literally, claiming to be a faerie. Her appearance, combined with his horses gradually recovering their health, will challenge everything Greyson knows about life...or thought he knew.

Short Excerpt Once and Always

She wanted to be left alone, but that was no longer an option. At some point she might have to face people and their curiosity. The question of where she would go was never far from her mind.

Abruptly, she said, "I've gotta go. I have to take care of my mare and some other business." She nudged the horse forward, but Tyler stepped in front of her and grabbed the bridle's cheek strap, keeping her horse still. His glance seemed to soften as it rested on her face. She wanted nothing from him, especially the remembrance of what she used to look like, who she used to be.

Echoes from the Past

When the pain of memories and loss become too much for Christie, she hops on a bus and runs away from New York. She ends up in Kentucky at Winding Creek Farm, the last known address of her oldest sister Judith who ran away from home as a teenager.

Garrett is surprised when Christie shows up claiming to be his dead wife's sister. He'll brook no interference from Judith's family and doesn't want Christie causing problems for his daughter Hannah.

Garrett, Hannah and Christie are all wary of trusting in each other. They each hold secrets too painful to divulge, but share they must if they want to heal and somehow become a family.

What is there about cowboys

I really like writing about cowboys and the women they love. Contemporary romance, stories just begging to be told.

In Once and Always we've got cowboys in the Catskills, a young man who loved the granddaugther of his hard edged boss. Tyler and his father get run out of town one night on a suspicion of fraud, leaving behind Anna, the young girl he loved. When Tyler returns to the Double B, intent on clearing his family name from the scandal of six years before he finds Anna a changed woman. Gone is the young girl, in her place is a woman scarred emotionally and physically, and she's about to lose her beloved farm.

How hard is it to forgive and forget old hurts and betrayals? Sometimes it can be harder than anyone can imagine, especially when the truth of the fraudulent charge hangs between them, a seemingly insurmountable obstacle.  I hope you enjoy reading Tyler and Anna's story as much as I loved writing it.

Echoes from the Past on Kindle

"Echoes from the Past" now available on Kindle.  This contemporary romance is the first stand alone book in the Women of Character Series.

I wrote this story long before I had any experience with cancer, and while the main character Christie takes care of a sister who ultimately dies from this disease, when I pulled this manuscript out and re-read it, it brought back so many memories of my own family member's battle with cancer, which happened after this story was written.  Although cancer and alcoholism can be seen as minor themes in this contemporary romance, the heroine Christie's life is overshadowed by these family experiences in her life.

Christie's basically on the run from her life, overloaded, and just needing to heal so she takes off on a quest to share memories of her deceased sister with another sister she hasn't seen since she was a child.  She ends up in Kentucky and meets the hero Garrett and her sister's daughter Hannah, and therein the story really begins.

Christie, Garrett and Hannah all need healing, but of course on that journey they all push each other this way and that way and AWAY from each other, until ultimately, the healing journey begins.
